Exterior Painting
Siding takes more wear than any other exterior surface. Sun, moisture, and temperature shifts hit it every day. When paint fails here, it usually traces back to preparation, not product.
That’s where the work is.
Looking at the Siding First
Before painting, the siding gets looked at closely.
Peeling areas, exposed material, old repairs, and uneven wear tell you where problems start. Painting over those spots doesn’t solve anything. It just hides them temporarily.
Loose paint is removed. Bare areas are sealed. Trouble spots are handled before anything is covered.
Different Materials, Different Handling
Not all siding behaves the same.
Wood, fiber cement, and older materials each need a different approach. Some need more sealing. Some need lighter coats. Some need extra attention at joints and ends. We adjust based on what the siding needs.
Where Paint Usually Fails
Most siding paint problems start at edges and seams.
That’s where moisture gets in first. If those areas aren’t addressed properly, paint won’t last long. We spend time there because that’s what protects the surface.
Timing Matters Outside
Siding reacts quickly to sun and moisture.
Some sides of a house dry fast. Others don’t. Painting has to follow those conditions, even if it means slowing things down. That’s part of exterior work.
Keeping the Job Contained
Siding work affects the whole property.
Landscaping and surrounding areas are protected. Work moves in sections so the house isn’t opened up all at once. The site stays organized until the job is finished.
When Siding Gets Repainted
Siding is usually repainted when paint is peeling, thinning, or no longer protecting the surface. At that point, the focus is protection, not appearance.
Talking It Through
Siding projects start with a walk around the house and a look at the material itself. From there, the work gets planned around what’s needed and when conditions allow.
