Interior Painting

Trim and door work is where interior painting either holds together or falls apart. Lines are exposed. Edges matter. There’s nowhere for mistakes to soften over time.

We’ve learned that this work can’t be rushed and can’t be treated as secondary. It’s finish work, and it needs to be handled that way from the start.

Preparation Makes or Breaks This Work

Most trim problems come from skipping steps.

Old paint buildup, dents, gaps at joints, uneven profiles. If those aren’t corrected before painting, the finish exaggerates them. We address those issues first so the final result looks intentional, not layered on.

This takes time, but it’s the difference between trim that looks sharp for years and trim that starts to bother you once the room settles.

Ceilings Get Treated Like Surfaces, Not Background

Ceilings catch light more than people expect. Roller marks, thin coverage, rushed edges. You see it as soon as the room is finished.

They’re prepared properly and painted at a pace that keeps the finish even. Same standard as the walls.

No shortcuts.

Doors Are Treated as Working Surfaces

Doors get more contact than almost any painted surface in a home. They’re opened, closed, leaned on, cleaned, and bumped.

We prepare and paint doors so they hold up to that use. Hardware is handled carefully, edges are kept clean, and finishes are applied evenly so doors operate and look right from both sides.

A door should feel finished when you touch it, not sticky or heavy with paint.

Clean Lines, Quiet Transitions

Baseboards, window trim, and casing define the edges of a room. When lines wander or transitions are sloppy, the eye goes straight to it.

We keep lines clean and transitions controlled so trim frames the space instead of pulling attention. When the work is done correctly, you don’t notice the trim. You notice the room.

Talking Through the Details

Trim and door work benefits from seeing the space and the existing condition before decisions are made.
